Top-Seeded Volleyball Advances to NJAC Tournament Title Match

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (21-9, 7-1 NJAC) secured a spot in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament Championship match after sweeping fifth-seeded Rowan (16-14, 5-3 NJAC) in the semifinals Nov. 14 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • It was a tightly contested opening set as the Pioneers held a slim 14-10 lead before the Profs rattled off eight unanswered points to start a 10-1 run. William Paterson countered with a 10-2 run capped by kill from sophomore Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) to secure the 25-22 win.
  • The two sides were even at 6-6 in the second set until the Pioneers outscored Rowan, 19-4, to capture the 25-10 victory.
  • Rowan knotted the score at 12-12 in the third set, but a kill by graduate student Hope Arce-Reed (New Carrollton, Md./College Park Academy) sparked a 13-4 run that gave the Pioneers the 25-16 win.
