WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (10-5, 2-0 NJAC) extended its win streak to seven after besting #RV Franklin & Marshall (12-3, 1-0 Centennial), 3-0, Oct. 3 at the Sports and Recreation Center. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers jumped out to an 18-11 lead in the opening set before the Diplomats scored five unanswered points to trim the deficit to two (18-16). William Paterson outscored Franklin & Marshall, 7-3, the rest of the way and a service ace by sophomore Abby Houpt (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) secured the 25-19 set win.
- A 7-0 run early in the second set put the Diplomats ahead, 11-7. The Pioneers responded with a 9-0 run to gain the edge (16-11) before the two sides began to trade points. A kill by sophomore Cecilia Miller (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) sparked a late 4-1 surge that gave WP set point (24-19). Despite three unanswered points by Franklin & Marshall, Miller recorded her third kill of the set to give the Pioneers the 25-22 victory.
- WP led by one (21-20) in the third set before outscoring the Diplomats, 4-1, en route to capturing the 25-21 win. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Pioneers improved to 7-0 at home.
- Miller finished with a match-high 11 kills to go with four digs and a pair of service aces.
- Graduate student Hope Arce-Reed (New Carrollton, Md./College Park Academy) logged nine kills and four digs.
- Sophomore Sofia Zablackis (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and freshman Makayda Aldrich (Robbinsdale, Minn./Brooklyn Center) each finished with six kills and three block assists.
- Houpt dished out a match-best 33 assists to pair with eight digs.
- Senior Paola Molina (Hatillo, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Felipe) had a match-high 18 digs.

- The Pioneers will head to Boston Saturday, Oct. 5, to take on host Wentworth Institute of Technology at 10:00 a.m. before facing off against Lasell at noon.
