Men's Basketball Falls at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (6-14, 1-12 NJAC) was defeated 93-65 on the road by Stockton (13-7, 9-4 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game Jan. 27.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Ospreys took a commanding 19-5 lead in the opening six minutes of the game and maintained the double-digit advantage for majority of the first half.
  • William Paterson trailed 55-42 with 17:06 remaining in the game before a three-point play by junior Tim Gjonballa (Brooklyn, N.Y./Jackson Liberty) sparked an 8-2 run to make it a five-point game (55-50). However, with 11:08 left to play, the Ospreys put the game out of reach with 15 unanswered points and went on to secure the 93-65 home win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) finished with a double-double after scoring 16 points and reeling in a team-high 10 boards. He added five steals and two assists to his stat line.
  • Junior Andre Wells (Matawan, N.J./Matawan) went 4-for-8 (.500) from the floor for a 12-point outing.
  • Graduate student MJ Moncrieffe (Maplewood, N.J./Marist) and junior David Martinez (Maywood, N.J./Hackensack) had eight points apiece.
  • Gjonballa reeled in six boards and had six points.

  • William Paterson returns to the Sports and Recreation Center, Wednesday, Jan. 31, for an 8:00 p.m. NJAC game against Montclair State.
