Volleyball Captures 3-0 Road Win at Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The William Paterson volleyball team (11-3, 1-1 NJAC) earned its third straight win after claiming a 3-0 non-conference road victory against Arcadia (2-13, 0-2 MAC Freedom) Sept. 29.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The two sides were even at 10 apiece in the first set before the Pioneers rattled off five unanswered points to grab a 15-10 advantage. The Knights responded immediately with six straight points to go ahead by one (16-15). Arcadia had match point with a three-point lead (24-21), but a kill by freshman Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) sparked a 5-0 run to give WP the 26-24 come-from-behind set win.
  • WP jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the second set and never looked back en route to securing a 25-13 set victory.
  • The Pioneers held a 21-16 advantage during the third set, but a 6-1 run by the Knights pulled Arcadia within one (22-21). However, WP managed to hold its slim lead the rest of the way and secure the 25-23 set win to complete the 3-0 sweep.
 INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman Cecilia Miller (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) recorded 10 kills and seven digs.
  • Glenn posted her third consecutive 10-kill performance.
  • Freshman Sofia Zablackis (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) tallied three block assists and five kills.
