ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The William Paterson volleyball team (1-0) used a balanced effort to open its 2022 campaign with a 3-0 sweep at Bard (0-1) Sept. 1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers turned an 11-8 advantage into an 18-10 lead on their way to a 25-16 first-set victory.
• WP scored six straight points to transform a 7-7 tie into a 13-7 edge, finishing off the second set with a 25-17 win.
• William Paterson raced out to a 12-3 lead en route to a 25-10 triumph during the third set.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Freshman middle hitter/right side Erica Bickart (Tucson, Ariz./Marana) put down nine kills and tallied three block assists during her debut.
• Junior libero Paolo Molina collected 13 digs and three service aces, while freshman outside hitter/libero Abigail Hayth (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) added six kills to her 11 digs.
• Freshman setter Ava Padwelka (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) posted 27 assists, three block assists and three aces.
