Volleyball Doesn’t Drop a Set, Earns 3-0 Victory at Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – William Paterson (2-0) earned its second straight-set volleyball victory of the young season, defeating host Saint Elizabeth (0-2) by a 3-0 count Sept. 3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Pioneers scored eight of the match's first nine points en route to an opening 25-7 win.
  • When SEU started the second set with a 3-2 advantage, WP answered with a 20-0 run and went on to post a 25-7 victory.
  • William Paterson turned a 12-10 edge into a 20-12 advantage, finishing the match with a 25-14 triumph.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman middle hitter/right side Erica Bickart (Tucson, Ariz./Marana) collected a team-best six kills while serving eight aces.
  • Freshman outside hitter/libero Abigail Hayth (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) posted five kills and 10 service aces.
  • Junior libero Paolo Molina paced WP with seven digs.
  • Freshman setter Ava Padwelka (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) had 13 assists.
