Women's Basketball Takes Care of Rutgers-Camden at Home, 65-50

WAYNE, N.J.- The William Paterson women's basketball team (11-9, 10-6 NJAC) took down Rutgers-Camden (2-15, 1-11 NJAC), 65-50, at home Feb. 5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP outscored Rutgers-Camden 36-14 during the first half.
  • A jumper on the wing from senior forward Brianna Brooks (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) gave the Pioneers a 25-point advantage (48-23) at the 1:39 mark of the third.
  • The Scarlet Raptors cut the deficit to 11, trailing 57-46 with 1:40 remaining.
  • The Pioneers went 8-for-10 (.800) from the free-throw line during the final two minuets.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior guard Yakira Rosa (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed four steals.
  • Brooks added 10 points and nine rebounds.
  • Junior guard Precious Allah (Neptune, N.J./Monmouth Regional) finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
