Women's Basketball Earns Key Road Win at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J.- The William Paterson women's basketball team (10-9, 9-6 NJAC) registered a key 60-43 road win at Stockton (9-12, 7-8 NJAC) Feb. 5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP outscored Stockton 17-9 during the first quarter.
  • A jumper from junior guard Precious Allah (Neptune, N.J./Monmouth Regional) gave the Pioneers a 32-16 lead with 25 seconds left in the first half.
  • Junior guard Brianna Smith (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) gave WP its largest lead of the game at 21 points (53-32) with 4:37 left to play
  • The Pioneers went 7-for-8 (.875) from the free throw line during the final two minuets.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior forward Justina Cabezas (Carlstadt, N.J./Becton Regional) finished with a team-high 21 points and 13 rebounds, securing her sixth double-double of the season.
  • Freshman guard Victoria Palladino (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) scored 13 points, while grabbing four boards and dishing out four assists.
  • Smith added 10 points and four rebounds.
