WAYNE, N.J.- The William Paterson women's basketball team (12-10, 11-7 NJAC) finished its regular season at first place Kean (17-6, 15-2 NJAC) with a 74-59, loss Feb. 16

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The first quarter ended in a 14-14 tie.
• A three-pointer from junior forward Qiana Vigo (Ewing, N.J./The Hill School) gave WP a 20-18 lead at the 6:04 mark of the second.
• Kean took a 10-point lead with 41 seconds remaining in the first half.
• The Cougars outscored the Pioneers 42-35 in the second half.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior forward Justina Cabezas (Carlstadt, N.J./Becton Regional) led the Pioneers with 18 points and nine rebounds.
• Senior forward Brianna Brooks (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) added 12 points and nine rebounds.

UP NEXT:

• The Pioneers' will await their opponent for the first round of the NJAC playoff tournament, which begins on Saturday, February 19.
