Volleyball Bested by NJCU

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The WP volleyball team (11-16, 1-7 NJAC) drops last NJAC match of the season to New Jersey City University (15-11, 3-5 NJAC) in five sets on Oct. 25 at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP secured the first two sets, 28-26 and 25-22. NJCU earned the third set behind an 8-0 run, winning 25-23. The Gothic Knights emerged triumphant, defeating the Pioneers 25-21 and 15-13 in the last two sets.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman Abigail Herring (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) led the Pioneers with 15 kills and senior Kathleen Burrough (North Burlington, N.J./North Burlington) added 12 kills.
  • Freshman Alexa Jarvis (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) tallied a team-high 21 assists.
  • Junior Paola Molina (Hatillo, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Felipe) secured 24 digs and four aces against the Gothic Knights. Freshman Kiyarah Hicks (Redmond, Ore./Redmond) contributed four aces as well.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson finishes the season on Oct. 29 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for a tri-match against New Paltz and Vassar at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
