WAYNE, N.J.- The William Paterson women's basketball team (7-5, 6-2 NJAC) fell at home to Kean (8-5, 6-1 NJAC) 66-59, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup on Jan. 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• A close first quarter ended with Kean leading 18-16.
• A three pointer for WP from junior forward Qiana Vigo (Ewing, N.J./The Hill School) tied the game up at 27-27 with 4:47 left in the half.
• The Cougars ended the first half on a 14-2 run to hold a 43-32 lead.
• A 9-0 run from the Pioneers' to start the second half brought the Kean lead to 43-41 at the 4:31 mark.
• WP retook a 55-54 lead with 6:33 left in the fourth.
• A made three from Kean put the cougars up five (64-59) with 2:30 remaining.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior forward Justina Cabezas (Carlstadt, N.J./Becton Regional) finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds, securing her third straight double-double.
• Vigo scored a career high 20 points and five rebounds.
• Junior guard Yakira Rosa (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) added 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
