WAYNE, N.J.- The William Paterson men's basketball team (8-5, 5-3 NJAC) overcame a 14 point halftime deficit to take down the visiting Kean Cougars (9-4, 3-4 NJAC) at home, 83-76 on Jan. 12.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Kean controlled both ends of the floor throughout the majority of the first half, as they held a 31-20 lead at the 5:18 mark.
• The Cougars held a 44-30 lead at half.
• The Pioneer's took its first lead of the game, with a 58-57 advantage at the 8:46 mark.
• Junior forward Michael Gilmore (Teaneck, N.J./Pine Forge Academy) extended the lead to 10 for WP, with a 73-63 lead with 4:16 left to play.
• The Pioneers' defense held strong down the stretch, as their lead never fell under six in the final two minuets.

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Graduate student guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) led WP with 24 points, while grabbing four rebounds.
• Senior guard Nick Rodriguez (Redding, Calif./Shasta) scored a career-high 20 points and four rebounds.
• Gilmore finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.
