JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (2-3, 2-3 NJAC) fell on the road to New Jersey Athletic Conference front runner New Jersey City (5-0, 5-0 NJAC), 69-49, Feb. 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• William Paterson would take an early 5-2 edge but shoot just 1-of-11 (.090) for the remainder of the first quarter as New  Jersey City used a 17-3 run to increase its advantage to 19-8 after 10 minutes of action.
• The Pioneer offensive struggles would continue in the second stanza with the Gothic Knights outscoring the visitors 21-9 in the frame to take a 23-point lead into halftime, 40-17.
• In the third, sophomore guard Yakira Rosa (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) would score eight points as William Paterson shot 62.5-percent (10-16) from the floor to cut the deficit to 15 (52-37).
• WP would get as close as 13 (52-39, 9:43) early in the final quarter but get no closer as NJCU pulled away late for the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Rosa finished her afternoon with 13 points and four assists, her third double digit scoring output in as many games, while classmate Allison McBride (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) posted a double-double of 15 tallies and 10 rebounds.
• WP committed a season-high 26 turnovers, leading to 31 NJCU points.
• New Jersey City put four players in double figures, led by Damaris Rodriguez's game-high 19.
