MONTCLAIR, N.J.- The William Paterson women's basketball team (4-3, 3-0 NJAC) took down Montclair State (2-5, 1-3 NJAC) on the road, 62-56 on Dec. 8. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Montclair State led 15-14 at the end first quarter and at the half, 28-16.
• The Pioneers' came back out strong, cutting the deficit to just six at 40-34, with 40 seconds left to play in the third.
• A 7-2 run to start the fourth by WP tied the game at 42-42, at the 6:51 mark.
• A back and forth final three minutes saw the Pioneers' prevail, as WP hit eight of its final 10 free throw attempts, securing them the 62-56 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior forward Brianna Brooks (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, recording her second straight double-double and third of the season.
• Junior guard Brianna Smith (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) scored 19 points and dished out five assists.
• Junior guard Yakira Rosa (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) added eight rebounds.
