NEWARK, N.J.- The William Paterson men's basketball team (4-2, 2-1 NJAC) fell on the road in overtime at Rutgers-Newark (6-2, 3-0 NJAC) 87-82, on Dec 3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers' took its first lead of the game with 7:26 left in the first, with a 23-22 advantage.
• Fast forward to late in the second half, the Pioneers' held a 65-64 lead with 6:51 remaining.
• Junior guard Jadon Cepeda (West New York, N.J./Memorial) went 1-for-2 from the free throw line with 17 seconds left, giving WP a 75-74 lead.
• Rutgers-Newark would go 1-for-2 as well from the line with three seconds left, to tie the game at 75-75 at the end of regulation.
• The Scarlet-Raiders outscored the Pioneers in the overtime 13-8.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Graduate student guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) finished with 17 points and five rebounds. 
• Senior guard Nick Rodriguez (Redding, Calif./Shasta) added 16 points and a career high eight rebounds.
