MONTCLAIR, N.J.- The William Paterson men's basketball team (5-2, 3-1 NJAC) secured a 84-74 road win at Montclair State (4-4, 1-3 NJAC) on Dec. 8.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After a back and forth first 10 minutes, the Pioneers' hit back to back three pointers, extending its lead to 25-14 at the 9:51 mark.
• WP held a 39-32 lead to end the first half.
• Montclair State tied the game back at 43-43 with 16:37 left in the second half.
• A step-back three pointer from graduate student guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) gave WP a 64-53 lead with 8:41 left to play.
• The Pioneers' lead did not fall to under seven points in the final 13:00 minutes of the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Mignone finished with 20 points, while adding six assists and five rebounds.
• Senior guard Adryan Lopez (Garfield, N.J./Lyndhurst) and junior guard Jadon Cepeda (West New York, N.J./Memorial) each scored 18 points.
• The Pioneers' finished shooting 29-for-59 (49.2%) from the field.
