Volleyball Defeats John Jay at Kings College Tri-Match

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The William Paterson volleyball team (12-10, 3-5 NJAC) split their decisions at the Kings College Tri-match with a 3-0 victory against John Jay, (7-11), however fell to Kings (18-3) 3-0, Oct. 23.

MATCH ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Kings secured set wins of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-18
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior middle hitter Leila Ksiyer (Bogota, N.J./Bogota ) led the Pioneers with 22 kills.
  • Senior setter Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) finished with 35 assists.

MATCH TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP secured straight set wins of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-16
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior outside hitter Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) led with 12 kills and 11 digs.
  • Junior middle hitter Kathleen Burrough (North Burlington, N.J./North Burlington) finished with four service aces.
