HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers won the first set of the match, 25-16.
• Montclair State won the following three sets, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-18.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior outside hitter Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) and junior middle hitter Leila Ksiyer (Bogota, N.J./Bogota ) each recorded 16 kills in the match.
• Senior setter Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) finished with 32 assists.
