WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (10-13, 8-8 NJAC) fell at home to the Rowan Profs (20-3, 14-2 NJAC), 72-53, Feb. 12.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers defense stole the show in the first half, limiting the Profs to just 21.9 percent (7-32) shooting in the opening 20 minutes. However, WP was unable to find its own offensive rhythm and trailed at halftime, 24-19.
• Rowan found its form in the second stanza, outscoring William Paterson 25-14 in the third and 23-20 in the final period to come away with the 19-point win, 72-53.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior guard Jykayla Elting (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) set a new career-best with 12 points and matched her season-high with 12 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season.
• The Pioneers honored members of the University's seven women's intercollegiate athletics teams at halftime as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
