Ramapo Runs Past Men’s Basketball, 69-49

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (7-9, 3-6 NJAC) could not keep pace with visiting Ramapo (9-7, 5-4 NJAC) as the Pioneers fell at home, 69-49, Jan. 18.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After a three-pointer by junior guard Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) cut the Ramapo lead to three (27-24) with 4:15 remaining in the opening stanza, the Roadrunners closed the half on an 15-0 run and held a 42-24 advantage at intermission.
  • Ramapo continued its sharpshooting in the second half as the visitors would lead by as many as 26 (54-28, 16:11) before settling on the 20-point triumph.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior guard Sammy Asani (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) scored a season-best 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-for-4 from beyond-the-arc, and added eight rebounds and two steals.
  • Mignone finished with 11 tallies, while classmate Malcolm McLeod (Teaneck, N.J./Eastern Christian) contributed seven points.
