UNION, N.J. – William Paterson volleyball (7-5, 0-1 NJAC) could not find an offensive rhythm during its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener, a 3-0 setback at Kean (11-6, 2-0 NJAC) Sept. 24.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Following a pair of Cougar victories in the first two sets, the Pioneers raced out to a quick 11-5 edge in the third frame, but a 15-2 run by Kean helped the hosts close out the match with a 25-16 triumph.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior libero Barbara Colizza (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) and junior Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) each tallied 10 digs, and sophomore Camryn Norman (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) added nine.
• Sophomore setter Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) contributed 15 assists and senior outside hitter Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) hit a team-best eight kills.
