Volleyball Stymied at Baruch, 3-2

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior libero Barbara Colizza's (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) career-best 29 digs and classmate Alyson Toman's (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) season-high 18 kills wasn't enough as William Paterson volleyball (3-3) feel on the road to Baruch (4-1), 3-2, Sept. 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP dominated the opening set, limiting Baruch to a -.143 hitting percentage (five kills, 11 errors, 42 attempts) en route to a 25-12 triumph.  After the Bearcats took the second and third frames, the Pioneers pulled away late to claim the fourth stanza, 25-22. Both team would trade points throughout the final set, but it was Baruch who closed out the match with a 17-15 decision

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Joining Colizza in double-digit digs was freshman Alexa Houston (Tuckerton, N.J./Pinelands Regional) (21), junior Dakota Apicella (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) (18) and sophomores Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) (15) and Kyla Sebello (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) (14).
  • Toman led the Pioneers with 18 kills, while Houston and sophomore Jamie O'Shea (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) added seven apiece.
