YORK, Pa. – Despite a double-double from junior guard
Brianna Brooks (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook), William Paterson women's basketball (1-1) could not overcome a sluggish third quarter as the Pioneers fell to host York College (1-2), 59-50, in the opening round of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Nov. 15.

- The third period belonged to York as the hosts outscored WP 21-8 to claim a 45-38 advantage. William Paterson was able to make it a one-possession game (49-46, 4:57), but the host Spartans made enough shots down stretch to come away with the victory.
