WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson football team (2-4, 0-3 NJAC) fell at home to nationally-ranked Wesley College (5-1, 2-1 NJAC), 45-7, Oct. 19.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Running back Terrique Riddick (Bridgeville, Del./Woodbridge) got WP on the scoreboard at the 6:21 mark in the second quarter when the freshman broke free on an 85-yard touchdown run (24-7).
  • The Wolverines used a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jon Mullin to Jason Rigby, and a one-yard scoring run from Leroy Pendleton to open a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
  • Mullin connected twice on scoring strikes to Ruhann Peele, and Nick Bruhn added a 31-yard field goal to give No. 18 Wesley a 31-7 edge into halftime.
  • Pendleton's second rushing TD of the game, coupled with a Markquise Normand four-yard plunge in the fourth quarter, closed out the scoring.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Riddick finished the afternoon with 14 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown.
  • Senior quarterback Tracy Fudge, Jr. (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) was 7-for-13 for 39, while freshman wide receiver Matt Clarke (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) caught five passes for 33 yards.
  • Senior linebacker Andrew Anthony (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) finished with 11 tackles (seven solo), his third double-double tackles total in as many games. Junior linebacker Sean Maldonato (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland Regional) matched his season-high with nine stops (seven solo), and senior linebacker Jadrien Travieso (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) tallied three tackles and his first career sack.
