WAYNE, N.J. – Senior outside hitter Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) and sophomore middle hitter Jamie O'Shea (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) each registered 10 kills as William Paterson volleyball (9-7) posted its second straight victory, a 3-0 sweep of Purchase (4-13) Oct. 11.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers hit .370 (12 kills, two errors, 27 attempts) during a 25-14 opening-set win. In the second frame, WP's defense limited Purchase to a -.240 swinging percentage (two kills, eight errors, 25 attempts) en route to a 25-7 lopsided decision. In the third, William Paterson opened a 10-1 lead before running away with the 25-9 triumph.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Toman and O'Shea each hit over .500 during the match, while freshman outside hitter Kathleen Burrough (North Burlington, N.J./North Burlington) notched five kills and classmate Leila Ksiyer (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) added four.
• Senior Barbara Colizza (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) recorded a team-high 10 digs, her 12th double-digit output of the season.
• WP hit 13 service aces led by junior Dakota Apicella's (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) five.
• The Pioneers are 9-0 all-time against the Panthers.
