Volleyball Bested at Rutgers-Camden, 3-0

CAMDEN, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (7-7, 0-3 NJAC) dropped its third straight New Jersey Athletic Conference contest, a 3-0 setback at Rutgers-Camden (8-7, 1-3 NJAC) Oct. 1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Rutgers-Camden put together an impressive first set, hitting .419 (14 kills, one error, 31 attempts) to take the opener, 25-9. The Scarlet Raptors took the middle frame, 25-15, before closing out the Pioneers with a 25-19 decision in the third.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman outside hitter Kathleen Burrough (North Burlington, N.J./North Burlington) hit for a season-high six kills, while senior Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) led the team with seven.
  • Senior Libero Barbara Colizza (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) tallied 11 digs and sophomore Kyla Sebello (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) added seven.
  • William Paterson hit just .065 (22 kills, 16 errors, 92 attempts) for the match as compared to .303 for Rutgers-Camden.
