Video Highlights 

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (6-0) continued its impressive start to the season by sweeping past King's College (2-2) 3-0 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneer's offense was firing on all cylinders in the first set as they raced out to a 4-1 highlighted by a pair of Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) service aces. Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) and Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) would both collect three kills and hit over .500 en route to a 25-11 first set victory.
• After spotting King's a quick 3-1 advantage, WP would score the game's next 13 points to cruise to a 25-8 win in the second stanza.
• King's battled for much of the third set, however, WP was able to pull away late for the 25-20 decision.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) controlled the offense for the Pioneers, dishing out a match-high 19 assists, while Kat Alleva's (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) first collegiate action saw the freshman tally 12. Griffith registered 11 kills on a .556 hitting percentage, and Toman and Lembo added eight kills each.
• Griffith led the defense with 10 digs followed by Lembo with nine.
• As a team, WP hit .266 with 35 kills with just eight attacking errors. The Lions hit just .066 with 22 kills while committing 16 errors.
