WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (22-4) closed out the regular season with a dominate 3-0 sweep of Pratt Institute (12-13) as WP celebrated Senior Night at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • William Paterson wasted no time jumping out to a quick 21-7 lead en route to a 25-11 opening win. WP carried the momentum for the remainder of the match, taking the second and third sets by identical 25-13 scores.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior outside hitter Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) paced the attack with 14 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, and seniors Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) and Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) each totaled six kills.
  • Senior setter Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) served up a team-high four aces and dished out 26 assists, registering her 3,000th in her final home match.
  • Defensively, Griffith led the team with 16 digs followed by freshman libero Kristin Volavka (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) with 10, and Chelliah Phillips (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) posted three blocks.
  • Prior to the match, William Paterson honored its four seniors – Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus), Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional), Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and Chelliah Phillips (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield).
