Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's volleyball team (18-4, 3-4 NJAC) suffered a 3-0 setback to Stockton (24-6, 7-0 NJAC) Oct. 16.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Consecutive first-set kills by Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) gave WP an early 10-5 advantage. Following a Stockton timeout, Alyson Toman's (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) kill increased the Pioneer's lead to six, 14-8, before the Ospreys went on an 8-2 run to tie things up at 16-16 midway through the set. Stockton would continue to click offensively and take the frame, 25-21.
  • Trailing 16-12 in the second stanza, a pair of Toman kills got WP within two, however, Stockton would close out the set on a 9-2 run, securing the 25-16 decision.
  • The visitors would seal the win with a dominate 25-14 triumph in the third.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) recorded 23 assists, while Toman paced the attack with nine kills.
  • Lembo's 13 digs led all players, followed by Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) with 10.
  • William Paterson is tied with Ramapo for sixth in the NJAC standings. Next week's conference finale (Oct. 23) will determine who advances to the NJAC Tournament that starts on Oct. 30.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson travels to Maritime on Thursday, Oct. 18, for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference match.
