FINAL RESULTS
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -Â The William Paterson tennis team (0-10) closed out its 2017 fall schedule Monday evening, suffering a 7-2 defeat to Farmingdale State (7-8) on the road.

In the doubles competition, freshman
Arrion Berry (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Twp.) and sophomore
Julienn Guzman (Jersey City, N.J./Liberty) earned a dramatic victory at third doubles, overcoming a 5-0 deficit late in the match to rally for a 9-7 win over Jazmin Garcida and Madeline Berger.

The Pioneers put up a battle in the singles competition as well, but could only manage one win in the six matches. Freshman
Vanessa Chira (Lincoln Park, N.J./Passaic County Technical Institute) was once again impressive, taking down Cameren Jackson in three sets, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 to earn the win at sixth singles. Guzman and Berry both took four games in the opening set of their respective matches, but ultimately came up short 6-4, 6-1 at fourth and fifth singles.
