WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (10-4, 0-2 NJAC) had its five-meet winning streak snapped after falling to New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival Montclair State (8-3, 2-2 NJAC), 158-111, Jan. 28.
Junior
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) led the Pioneers by winning both the 200 back (2:01.15) and 200 IM (2:03.19). Just 0.76 second separated Taboadela from two Montclair State swimmers as the WP junior took home a closely-contested 200 IM.
The Pioneers also had three single winners. Freshman
Emmanuel Garcia (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) won the three-meter dive (180.10), senior
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) claimed the 100 fly (56.08) and freshman
Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) touched first in the 500 free (5:38.57).
WP will conclude its home slate for the 2016-17 season when it hosts Ramapo Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 6:00 p.m.
