BRONX, N.Y. - Junior
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) and senior
Grant Ashcraft (Penns Grove, N.J./Woodstown) won two events apiece as the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (9-3) topped Lehman (3-5), 119-112, Jan. 14. The win gave the Pioneers their fourth consecutive victory.
Taboadela touched first in the 1,000 free (10:57.03) and 500 free (5:40.69), while Ashcraft claimed the 200 IM (2:19.13) and 100 back (1:00.97).
WP also had three single winners by way of sophomore
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) in the 50 free (24.08), senior
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) in the 100 fly (56.66), and junior
Sammuel Melendez (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) in the 100 breast (1:05.87).
Cowie and Macchia joined freshman
Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) and senior
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) to win the 200 free relay (1:38.70).
The Pioneers will celebrate Senior Day Saturday, Jan. 21, against Bard at 1:00 p.m.
