YORK, N.Y. – The William Paterson volleyball team (7-2) registered 3-0 victories against host York, N.Y. (2-7) and Clarks Summit (1-10) during a tri-match Sept. 17.
WP started the day with a 25-12, 25-4, 25-11 win against the host Cardinals. Freshman outside/middle hitter
Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) led all players with 13 kills, and sophomore setter
Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had match bests of 19 assists and seven digs. Senior outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) put down nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter
Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) finished with six digs.
Senior outside hitter Shauncia McClendon collected seven kills for York. Freshman setter Allison Ahmed had nine assists and five digs.
The Pioneers finished the day with a 25-19, 25-10, 25-13 victory against the Lady Defenders. Roach collected 12 kills and nine digs, while Caruso contributed 29 assists and eight digs. Toman had eight kills, and sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) added nine digs.
Junior middle hitter Callie Kitowski finished with 14 kills for Clarks Summit. Freshman setter Alexa Wagner dished 14 assists, and senior defensive specialist Joelle Howard had 11 digs.
William Paterson will visit Ramapo Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7:00 p.m.
