WAYNE, N.J. – Senior outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) collected 19 kills and 20 digs as the William Paterson volleyball team (4-1) rallied from a first-set loss to defeat visiting Mount Saint Vincent (1-3), 3-1, Sept. 10.
The Dolphins took the opening set by a 25-20 score, but the Pioneers responded by scoring the first 10 points of the second en route to a 25-10 win. WP finished off the match with 25-55 and 25-15 victories.
Sophomore setter
Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) posted 37 assists and 23 digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) had eight kills, 12 digs and three service aces. Junior libero
Julianna Ginefra (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) contributed 12 digs, and sophomore outside hitter
Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) had eight kills and 10 digs.
Freshman outside hitter Tara Maloney led Mount Saint Vincent with 22 kills, adding 15 digs. Junior setter Nicole Henderson dished out 41 assists, and sophomore libero Chrissy Sewell collected 16 digs.
William Paterson will start conference play Tuesday, Sept. 13, at home against Kean at 7:00 p.m.
