BRONX, N.Y. – The William Paterson volleyball team (1-0) started its 2016 season with a 25-5, 25-5, 25-12 victory at Lehman (0-1) Sept. 1.
Senior outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) paced the Pioneers with 10 kills and nine digs, while sophomore setter
Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had 29 assists and five digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and freshman outside hitter/middle hitter
Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) each collected seven kills, and sophomore outside hitter
Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) chipped in six kills and eight digs.
Senior opposite hitter Salveira Gonzalez finished with two kills and six digs for the Lightning. Freshman setter Samantha Delgado dished out five assists.
William Paterson will play in a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 3, at Manhattanville, facing John Jay at 1:00 p.m. and the Valiants at 3:00 p.m.
