WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-0) began its season with a 102-85 victory against Wilkes (0-1) Oct. 8.
WP had a trio of double winners on the day. Senior
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:25.81) and 100 breast (1:15.13).
Sophomore
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) captured wins in the 50 free (26.93) and 100 back (105.86).
In diving, senior
Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) won the one-meter required (165.50) and one-meter optional (208.95) events.
Sophomore
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) won the 100 fly (1:09.00), and sophomore
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) rounded out WP's individual winners with a victory in the 200 free (2:11.90).
The Pioneers will travel to Old Westbury Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 6:00 p.m.
