THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Three different players had double-doubles as the William Paterson volleyball team (10-7) registered a 3-1 victory at Maritime (9-10) Oct. 6.
The Pioneers opened the match with a 25-15 victory before falling in a tightly-contested second set, 27-25. WP finished the night with 25-20 and 25-14 wins.
Sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J./DePaul Catholic) collected 11 kills and 15 digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) registered 10 kills and 19 digs. Sophomore setter
Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) contributed 36 assists and 13 digs, and freshman outside/middle hitter
Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added 10 kills. Sophomore middle hitter
Chelliah Phillips (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) posted nine kills and seven total blocks (five solo), junior libero
Julianna Ginefra (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) tallied 15 digs, sophomore outside hitter
Katelyn Schlemm (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) collected 12 digs and freshman libero
Kristina Ulrich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added 10 digs.
Junior outside hitter Shannon Brady led the Privateers with 15 kills, senior setter Erika Bailey dished 42 assists and junior outside hitter Gabrielle Kempski had 27 digs.
William Paterson will host John Jay at 11:00 a.m. and Cedar Crest at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8.
