Volleyball Suffers Four-Set Loss to Ramapo

Pioneers Drop Conference Match to Roadrunners

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (7-5, 1-2 NJAC) suffered a four-set loss to visiting Ramapo (7-3, 2-0 NJAC) Sept. 24.
 
The Roadrunners took the first set 25-7, but the Pioneers rallied to come out with a 25-23 win in the second. Ramapo was able to close out the match with hard-fought victories in the final two sets, 25-20 and 25-19.
 
Senior opposite hitter Nicole Spicer (Whiting, N.J./Manchester Twp.) led WP with 14 kills, adding six digs, and junior outside hitter Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) posted a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs. The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week, freshman setter Kendall Caruso (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) finished with 34 assists and eight digs, while sophomore libero Julianna Ginefra (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) collected 19 digs.
 
Freshman outside hitter Larysa Iwaskiw led all players with 23 kills and 21 digs for the Roadrunners. Junior setter Kaitlin Mac Iver had 43 assists.
 
William Paterson will visit Kean Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m.
