Women’s Basketball Defeats Ramapo, 82-66, to Set Up NJAC Tournament Rematch

Third-Seeded Pioneers to Host Sixth-Seeded Roadrunners Saturday

Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – Senior guards Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) and Kristine Jackiewicz (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) combined for 48 points as the William Paterson women's basketball team (16-9, 13-5 NJAC) finished the regular season with an 82-66 victory at Ramapo (12-13, 9-9 NJAC) Feb. 19.

The third-seeded Pioneers will host the sixth-seeded Roadrunners in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The winner will advance to play at second-seeded The College of New Jersey Tuesday, Feb. 25.

WP took control of the game with an early 17-3 run, jumping out to a 25-6 lead at the 13:20 mark before carrying a 43-33 edge into the locker room. The Pioneers forced 22 Ramapo turnovers during the contest, creating a 26-12 lead in points scored off the miscues.

Borova poured in 29 points, also registering game bests of five assists and five steals, while Jackiewicz posted 19 tallies and a team-high nine rebounds. Senior forward Dana Jeter (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) matched her effort with nine boards, chipping in 10 points, and junior center Ashley Marfo (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) just missed a double-double with 10 tallies and eight rebounds.

Micaela Moore led the Roadrunners with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Bintou Berete collected 12 tallies and 10 boards.
