WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (5-2) recorded another victory, this time against against Purchase (2-3) Nov. 22 at Wightman Pool. The Pioneers took advantage of five double winners to capture the 100-85 victory.

Senior Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) took first in the 1,000 free (12:18.83) and the 100 back (1:09.44), while junior Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) was the first to finish the 200 (2:10.70) and 500 (5:52.80) frees.

Sophomores Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) and Christine Gustafson (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) both captured two wins for the Pioneers. Blazevska took first the 200 IM (2:24.40) and the 100 breast (1:10.40), and Gustafson in the 100 fly (1:05.53) and the 50 free (24.67).

Sophomore Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) won the one-meter (193.53) and the three-meter (184.8) dives.

The Pioneers will compete Tuesday, Dec. 2, against Mount Saint Vincent starting at 6:00 p.m. at Wightman Pool.
