BOX SCORE

WAYNE, N.J. – A pair of goals less than five minutes apart at the end of the first half allowed William Paterson (2-8, 1-2 NJAC) to earn a 2-0 conference field hockey victory against Richard Stockton (5-4, 0-3 NJAC) Sept. 30 at Wightman Stadium.

Freshman Lauren Boegly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) handed the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage in the 31st minute when sophomore Jacqui Giammetta (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) brought the ball back towards goal on a broken penalty corner play, sending a cross that Boegly poked in at the left post.

Freshman Taylor Clayton (Hamburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) was the beneficiary of a Giammetta pass on a late breakaway, finishing at the right post with 3.9 seconds left in the first half for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Senior Meghan Trivett (Highlands, N.J./Middletown North) made four saves for the Pioneers, and freshman Liz Stankiewicz had five stops for the Ospreys.

The Pioneers will host Misericordia Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7:00 p.m.
