William Paterson was ahead 45-22 by halftime, and led by as many as 44 points (80-36, 2:03) during the contest. NJCU briefly went ahead at 3-2 1:13 into the contest, but WP reeled off a 24-6 run during the next eight minutes to seize control of the game. The Pioneers shot 46.9 (15-32) percent from the field during the first half before cooling slightly in the second period (.333, 13-39), all while holding the Gothic Knights to a 17-for-61 (.279) night shooting and forcing 24 NJCU turnovers.
Sophomore Nidia Carmona led the Gothic Knights with 12 points, senior Carolina Garcia chipped in 10 tallies, and freshman Maria Suarez posted eight points and a game-best 12 rebounds.
