WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman Emily Chick provided a pair of first-half goals to help lead Wheaton (2-1) to a 3-1 victory at William Paterson (1-2) in field hockey action Sept. 5 at Wightman Stadium.

William Paterson wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as sophomore Danielle Meade (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) knocked in her first career goal off an Amanda Sheehan (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) pass 1:20 into the contest. Chick added a second penalty-corner strike with 11:08 remaining in the opening period, using an assist from Eliza Kennedy, to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
