Box Score

WAYNE, N.J. -- William Paterson (5-1-2, 2-0-1 NJAC) had numerous quality chances but couldn't cash in, finishing with a 0-0 double-overtime tie against visiting Ramapo (6-2-2, 1-1-2 NJAC) in men's soccer action Sept. 29.

Ramapo defensive backs twice denied the Pioneer attack, the first coming less than 15 minutes into the contest when a Julian Valerio (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) header was knocked down on the goal line, and freshman Kene Eze's (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) follow of the rebound missed the left post. Midway through the second period, Eze's shot was saved by Ramapo keeper Brad Stockton, and a rebound attempt by senior back Chris Belan (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) was turned away by another Roadrunner defender.

The best opportunity of the extra time was in the 103rd minute when senior Ambrogio Pipitone (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) drew Stockton out of the net, but his cross from the left-side end line sailed too high over the head for Eze, who was all alone at the far post.

The Pioneers owned a 19-7 advantage in shots and a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. Stockton finished with 11 saves for Ramapo, while junior Zach Collins(Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) had two for William Paterson.

The Pioneers will play at Union Saturday, Oct. 2, at 2:00 p.m.
