Men’s Soccer Draws at Batten, 1-1

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Two goals during the match's opening moments resulted in a 1-1 draw for the William Paterson men's soccer team (2-1-2) at Batten (0-0-3) Sept. 12.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Marlins staked themselves to a 1-0 lead 5:27 into the contest.
  • Junior forward John Witkowski (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro) made it a 1-1 score less than three minutes later, converting a ball from sophomore back Gabriel McGee (Union, N.J./Union).
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Graduate student Luka Misko had six saves.
  • Witkowski's goal was his second of the season, and McGee contributed his second assist.
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson takes on No. 24 Christopher Newport Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3:30 p.m. in Newport News, Va.
