Junior Ryan Steidl (Randolph, N.J./Morris Knolls) improved to 2-0 on the hill, allowing six runs on eight hits in 6.0 innings while striking out five and walking one. Sophomore Dan Alcala (Totowa, N.J./Passaic Valley) pitched 2.0 innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits, and junior John Slootmaker (Pequannock, N.J./Lakeland Regional) tossed a perfect ninth inning.

A Frank Franco (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) fielder's choice and a Mike Moran (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Twp.) double drove in two runs during the top of the first, and a Somers two-run double helped make it a 5-0 score after two. Sophomore Anthony Dorio (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) doubled in Laguerre in the top of the third, and Guadango's fourth-inning home run made it an 8-0 Pioneer advantage.

Manhattanville got on the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the fifth, but Franco plated Guadango and Somers with a double to center field for a 10-2 score in the middle of the sixth.

Somers hit a two-run single in the seventh, Dorio added a sacrifice fly in the eighth, and sophomore Jonattan Fernandez's (Paterson, N.J./Sports Business Academy) two-run single helped the Pioneers push across four runs in the ninth to finish the scoring.

The Pioneers will host Stevens for a single nine-inning game Saturday, March 27, at 12:00 p.m.
