WAYNE, N.J. – Three Pioneers were double winners as the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (7-1) defeated FDU-Florham (0-6) by a 110-54 score Dec. 9.
Junior
Anthony Porzio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) touched first in the 400 IM (4:46.67) and 1,650 free (18:15.53), junior
Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) won the 100 (52.29) and 200 (1:56.26) frees, and senior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Morris County Tech) finished first in the one-meter (211.7) and three-meter (210.4) dives.
Freshman
Christopher Ropka (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) won the 50 free (23.69), junior
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) posted a victory in the 200 fly (2:09.28), and freshman
Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) touched first in the 200 back (2:09.94). Sophomore
Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) won the 200 breast (2:32.14) and junior
Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) finished first in the 500 free (5:28.95).
