WAYNE, N.J.  – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (1-1) picked up their first win of the 2026-27 season against Mount Saint Mary (0-2), 115-80, Oct. 27.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:

• Senior Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) collected first-place wins in the 200 free (1:57.17) and 500 free (5:25.95).
• Junior Isaiah Pierre (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) touched the wall first in the 100 free (53.82).
• The Pioneers clinched first place in the 200-freestyle relay with efforts from sophomore Horain Reid (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Central), junior Christian Scerbo (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park), senior Max Russell (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson Twp.), and senior Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) (1:41.20).
• Freshman Andres Acuna (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn), Junior Isaiah Pierre (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg), Senior Owen Kane (West Milford, N.J./West Milford), and Senior Garrett D'Elia (Maywood, N.J./Hackensack) secured first place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:58.53).
