WAYNE, N.J. – Senior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Morris County Tech) and junior
Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) were both double winners as the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (3-1) earned a 111-104 victory against SUNY Maritime (0-1) Nov. 3 at Wightman Pool.
Scimeca won the one-meter (184.3) and three-meter (204.95) dives, while Zappile touched first in the 500 (5:16.18) and 1,000 (10:55.81) frees. Junior
Anthony Porzio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) won the 200 IM (2:13.83), sophomore
Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) finished first in the 100 breast (1:05.85), and sophomore
Tyler Grady (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) registered a victory in the 100 back (57.32).
Junior
Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) added a win in the 200 free (1:56.69), and the 200 medley relay team of Grady, Yousef,
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) posted a winning time of 1:44.91.
The Pioneers will host NJIT Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 6:00 p.m.
