Box Score

POMONA, N.J. – Sophomore Danielle Meade (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) scored twice, including the game winner in the 40th minute, to lead the William Paterson field hockey team (4-8, 1-2 NJAC) to a 2-1 victory at Richard Stockton (0-11, 0-3 NJAC) Oct. 9.

Freshman Susie Balidemaj gave the Ospreys a 1-0 lead with her team-high seventh goal of the season, this one unassisted 14:17 into the game. The Pioneers tied the contest 11 minutes later when Meade received a pass from Jaclyn Bertos (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) and scored her second goal in as many games.

Meade struck for the game winner, unassisted, just 4:40 into the second half. Stockton pressed for the tying goal late but was denied, including a pad save by junior Meghan Trivett (Highlands, N.J./Middletown North) on a blast by Megan Irving with just over a minute remaining, to preserve the 2-1 win.

Trivett finished with five saves for the Pioneers, and Debi O'Kane had eight stops for Richard Stockton.

William Paterson will play at Stevens Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 5:00 p.m.
